Summary
Public Broadcasting Service's coverage of the 1979 Drum Corp International Championship from . Jim Peck and Steve Rondinaro host the televised coverage of performances. Four corps are featured on this recording. The corps are judged on horn line, drum line, and color guard. The Blue Stars from Wisconsin perform a selections of songs including "Strike Up the Band." The Bridgemen of New Jersey perform music from the opera "Pagliacci," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Dixie" and others. The Madison Scouts of Wisconsin perform "Banner's Pickup Rifles," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Bring Out a Smoothie," and "Pieces of Dreams." The 27th Lancers from Massachusetts perform a selection of songs including "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" and "Take Five."
